GIRLS’ EDUCATION HAS REACHED ITS CRITICAL
POINT

“When You Educate A Girl, You Educate The Whole Community” KB

In Zombo district, Uganda, only 9% of girls finish school as they are limited by early pregnancy, child marriage, lack of sanitary pads, gender-based violence, or being orphaned by HIV/AIDS. At TOUCEO, we work with girls to transcend poverty, HIV/AIDS, and gender-based violence by building environments where girls become empowered leaders. TOUCEO community hub therefore seeks to provide fully funded education, safe housing, leadership training, guidance & counselling, reproductive health education, meals, clothing, and medicines to girls each year. TOUCEO hosts community health events, offers reproductive health training to over 2,000 youth each year, and provide 15,000 community members with access to clean water. Thanks to all our supporter for supporting this initiative that reaches out to thousands of girls in Uganda’s hardest-to-reach region who will be educated become healthy, and ready to lead their communities.

Educate A Girl

The issues posed by the COVID-19 pandemic will undoubtedly persist even after a vaccine is widely accessible. These issues could have a generational impact if we do not act now. The disruption to education, as well as the long-term consequences for the world’s most vulnerable children, notably the poorest girls, is a major source of concern.
Last year, almost every country in the world closed schools to stop the spread of the coronavirus. These closures have had a devastating impact on poor countries and hard-to-reach populations, where schools were already under-resourced and online learning was unattainable. In addition to having difficulty obtaining education, the world’s poorest females struggled to find adequate time at home for independent learning. This is because they were expected to do more unpaid work while they were not in school, such as domestic tasks and caring for younger siblings.

Unfortunately, far too many girls have been denied their right to education. Girls are frequently compelled to marry or establish a family before they are physically or emotionally ready. Girls who do not complete high school are more likely to be sexually exploited and violent.
